象征春天的树丨桑性解Analyses of Mulberry Natures桑树是春天的象征。
有一个词叫“桑梓”。桑就是桑树，梓就是木梓树，这两种树放在一起为什么可以用来指代故乡呢？桑树是春天的主角，其绿色在春天非常显眼，大家在上面采桑叶、摘桑葚，关于春天的回忆，都可能有桑树。木梓树在秋天比较显眼，枝干苍劲，叶红白籽，是秋天的一番风景。于是，春去秋来，秋去春回，桑梓既是故乡的两种树，又意味着故乡的岁月，春秋轮转。直到现在，我想起故乡，才体会到这两个字的内涵。
Mulberry is a token of the spring. In Chinese language, there are two characters making a phrase called “sngz” (which means “one’s native place”), of which “sng” refers to mulberry tree and “z” refers to catalpa tree. When these too types of trees are put together, they refer to “one’s native place”. Why is it so? Mulberry tree is the leading actor in spring, whose green color is quite eye-catching in this season, and people climb up the tree to pick mulberry leaves (folium mori) and fruit, so our memories about spring may not go on if without the images of mulberry. The catalpa tree is a little more eye-catching in autumn. It has strong branches and red leaves, bearing white seeds, which is a picturesque scenery in autumn. As seasons are changing from spring to autumn, mulberry tree and catalpa tree not only represent the two special trees in our hometown, they also mean something of the years and time in our childhood. And for me, only by now when I think of my hometown, I am aware of the implication of these two Chinese characters.
春天是一个生发的季节，桑树是最有有生之气，所以围绕桑树的药也就非常多。桑树的叶子就是桑叶，桑树枝叫桑枝，桑树的根皮叫桑白皮，桑树的果实叫桑葚，桑树上还有一种寄生的小植物叫桑寄生，螳螂在桑树上排的卵叫桑螵蛸。桑叶可以喂蚕，蚕死了也可以入药的，叫白僵蚕，蚕的粪便又是蚕沙。这些我们都会讲到。
围绕桑树的药非常多，我们这个系列的药也会非常多。这也正好应了桑的生生之气。
The spring is a reproducing season, and mulberry tree is a most vigorous plant, so there are a lot of herbs related to mulberry for medicine like mulberry leaf (folium mori), Sangzhi (mulberry twig), the root bark of white mulberry (cortex mori), mulberry fruits, parasitic loranthus (parasitic plantlets on the mulberry trees), and Sangpiaoxiao (Mantis Egg-case) (eggs spawned by mantis on mulberry trees). The mulberry leaves can be used as food for silkworms. The dead silkworms can also be used for medicine called silkworm larva, and even the silkworm faeces (silkworm excrement) too. All these will be discussed in the following parts.
There are series of medicines related to mulberry trees, which just answer the questions about vitality of life and growth in the mulberry trees.
